Firstly, nobody is paid to work on The Urban Rat Project, so the only costs are server and IT service costs. Therefore we ask those community groups that are applying for funding from their local Council or other bodies to include a donation towards our running costs in their application.
Currently EcoTrack is financially supporting The Urban Rat Project and the projects will technically start to merge together more and more.
In 2019 we received an Auckland Council Regional Environment and Natural Heritage (RENH) grant that covered running costs until January 2020.
Originally The Urban Rat Project was funded by Microneer Limited, a company owned by The Urban Rat Project’s founder, Michael Fielding.
